Panasonic MPEG-4 Decoder
You will note that the Panasonic MPEG-4 decoder allows you to decode MPEG-4 video files. Panasonic have a number of digital products which will use this codec. These range from their products such as their DVD players, televisions as well as other multimedia products. The compression standard used by them is the MPEG-4 format. This allows for the decoding as well as the encoding of the video files.
Also note that the MPEG-4 decoder was made to support their devices and all their products. Sometimes it will not work on other products unless it was encoded with this codec. You cannot decode a video file unless you are using the same code to decode the video or audio that it was encoded with.
If you media player is not working then there can be other issues. Note that the GMP4 which comes from surveillance video cameras has its own codec. You can read the articles on this as their are two main ones. These are the GMP4 Codec for Windows which is the GeoVision MPEG-4. This is also covered in the cannot play .avi/GMP4 files as well. Finally there is also the FFDShow MPEG4 video decoder.
If you are trying to play MPEG-4 video files on your computer or device, you may need to use a different software program or media player that is compatible with the MPEG-4 format. There are several free and paid media players available that support MPEG-4 playback, such as VLC Media Player, Windows Media Player, and QuickTime Player. There is also the DivX MPEG-4 audio compressor on here.
