You will note that the GeoVision is a manufacturer of CCTV (closed-circuit television) equipment. With their range of camera equipment they also made their own codec. This many times is seen as the GMP4 codec. Much like Panasonic and their own codec called the Panasonic mpeg4. GeoVision much like Panasonic makes use of their own proprietary video codec called “GEO” for video compression and storage. The GeoVision codec is designed to achieve high compression ratios while maintaining good video quality.
You will note that GeoVision also supports other video codecs such as H.264 and MJPEG. These are all widely used and you can see the GeoVision H264 codec above for downloading and installing. These codecs provide compatibility with other systems and allow for easier integration with third-party software and hardware.
