Question by kazcarebear: windows media player wont play movies codec required…please help?
Anytime i try to play a movie or video from my laptop,,windows media player says codec required,,movies etc used to always play up until i downloaded any video converter(may be just coincidence) to covert mkv files to avi.if anyone knows why or how to fix it,,it would be a great help thanks:):)

Install K-lite codec pack which contains the most codecs for everything here http://www.codeccodecs.com/codec-pack-klite.html Or use VLC player.

Yup. K-Lite is awesome and it comes with Media Player Classic which is better than WMP.
