Question by Cat: How do you find the codec of a video so that you can edit it in windows movie maker?
I do not have a video camera so i record videos on my camera. When i try and upload them on my computer they only play in the quicktime player. i try to play them in windows media player but it says the codec is missing so it cannot play. i then try to edit it in windows movie maker but it says the video is not compatable. Is there a way that you tin get the codec so that i tin edit it in wondows movie maker and play it in windows media player. My friend and i are trying to make a movie but it needing editing and i can’t do it. PLEASE HELPif you have any further questions just ask and i will add in more informationthanks heaps

I would just go and find another movie editor.
