K Lite, DivX, XviD, 3ivX and my AVI files. Codec problems.

Question by OrangeFX: K Lite, DivX, XviD, 3ivX and my AVI files. Codec problems.

Ok..Heres the deal…I have the LG U990 Viewty. Its camera records in AVI. “Divx Playback (up to VGA 30 fps)”But when I get to my computer (through the mobiles USB Mass Storage option) The AVI files wont play..They used too.Until…I installed Quicktime, Quicktime doesn’t like K Lite Codec pack, Uninstalled that..And now the AVI files wont work.So I downloaded and installed DivX, XviD, and 3ivX and they still dont work!!So I uninstalled Divx, XviD and 3ivX and reinstalled the K Lite Pack. And it inactive wont work..Any Suggestions? And when ever I try to convert them in WinAVI or move them I get “Parameter is incorrect”I have installed Real Alternative tooThe installer I’m using is Windows Media Classic that came with K Lite..Im not fussed about watching themI want to import them to Adobe After Effects. So I don’t need new Media Players.I can also see the thumbnails.I just reinstalled windows.but. no..Not even after a disinfect reinstall and the k lite codec pack.

U need to include any error messages that u get when trying to play them and explain what media player u are using.

Off the top of my head i would say that the media player u are using as lost the codec plugin.

I would recommend unistalling the media player and codec packages, then re-installing the media player followed by the divx codec package. Download the divx package from divx.com and do a full install of it.

Ok so you dont care about playing them that is fine. Then that question is a mute point about why they are not playing.

With the Adobe After Effects issue this is not really my field of expertise as I am a network admin not a visual effects artist.

However here is a link for what says is a divx codec for after effects
    http://after-effects-codec.qarchive.org/

Here is a short youtube click on importing into After Effects.

Only other advise I can give is google
