Try using VLC Player from videolan. It’s able to play most video files (regardless of format) without you having to install supplementary codecs.
most probably the player you are using to play the movie doesn’t have the required codecs.
download the codecs or better still, a new player(to avoid such things in future),i would suggest vlc media player-it is compact and has opened all the videos i have tried to open with it.
I agree with the previous answers. Just one point of caution: If the message to download a codec appears in your Windows Media Player and there’s a link there to download the codec,
DON’T CLICK IT!
Some viruses/malware/spyware/trojans use this method to get you to download them.
If VLC Can’t play this movie, be very very suspicious of this movie file.
I suppose you’ve downloaded the movie from a Torrent. While downloading, your IP was revealed to the uploaders who are often government people seeking for people downloading illegal material. On the other hand, the uploader might be a random guy trying to boost his upload ratio on a tracker. Anyway, there’s no need for you to download a Codec. Delete the file you’ve downloaded.
