Question by Proud Aussie: How do I change the Codec of a dvd?
I have downloaded a couple of dvd’s and they were in the MKV format. I tried to convert them with “Any Video Converter”, but they are still not working in my DVD. They work on the PC, but not the DVD. I get a msg that says the dvd does not support this Codec. Do not know what I have done wrong.

sure any video converter only works on pc conversion i think you need a dvd ripper convert DVD to a format that you need as i know, there’s no any free, (maybe had, but i dunno)
DVD can just support certain video format. You need to convert them to VOD or MPG. I use tipard video converter to do this and it never fais. You can try it too. It is stable and easy to use. So don’t worry to be confused in front of its multiple functions.

There are so many different codes, may be the product you used can not decodes your DVD.Well, I recommend DVDFab DVD Ripper which could remove all the popular protect from DVD.
DVD format is VOB. It contains two folders Video_TS and Audio_TS, you have to convert your mkv video to DVD compatible video at first, otherwise regular DVD player can not read and play it. If you don’t know how to burn a playable DVD, I think this DVD Creator would help you a lot. It seems you need a video format that is playable on DVD player?
If so, firstly make sure your DVD player is compatible with AVI/DIVX, (you know AVI is the video format that closed to DVD VOB ). Then you simply need to convert MKV to AVI b
